Shadow Mewtwo aside, you'll fight tens of computer-controlled challengers before one chips away half of your health bar, let alone beats you. Unfortunately, even though on the surface there's a lot going on in Pokken Tournament - you'll definitely need to plough through the tutorials to get to grips with all the different gameplay elements - it's all just a bit too basic. While its influences are easy to spot, the makers of Pokken Tournament have still managed to create something that's both unique and entertaining, albeit not without problems. ![]() ![]() ![]() Fights begin in 3D arenas, where you can side-step, jump and run around freely, but land just a few hits and the action shifts to a 2D side-on viewpoint that better resembles something like Street Fighter - even down to the rock (block), paper (attack), scissors (throw) gameplay style.
